With the exponential growth of debt and derivatives, a sovereign debt default could trigger economic shock waves that would make the previous 2008-09 economic collapse look like the pre-shocks of a much larger earthquake. This video presents one possible scenario on how a dollar collapse would affect one family.

  • things got really messy here in Brazil back in the 80´s. we had a crazy inflation (like germany), we were totally broke and didnt pay our international debts. was that the end of our society? not really. that lead us to a New (brazilian) Order. Military dictatorship got down and we finally became a democracy.

there is still alot of cuts the your government can do before they cut electricity.

  • @maizuka There have been 25 countries to hit hyperinflation in the last 100 years, eventually things return to normal but things can get out of hand quickly - look at what happened with Germany.

  • nice bit of fiction... the wild west coming back, huh? well, time to chop some wood, light some fire, grow your own food, and basically stop being ridiculous american capitalists. you made your own downfall - and the rest of the worlds. thanks for that, hope you enjoyed not caring about anything but money for the 50-60 years it lasted.

  • @hcvang Your view of it is totally off, you should really read more and stop spewing canned statements you hear. It its the crony system of the world's central banks and their crony banks and corporations that drove us into this. Do you really think that the problems in Europe with all those countries being in such deep debt was caused by the US? How about Japan, being broke twenty years ago? Or Argentina over 10 years ago? Grow up, educated yourself, and stop being childish.

  • i bet they wished they'd listened to the scientists who wrote 'limits to growth' 40 years ago, rather than a load of unqualified goons. ie economists telling them growth could go on infinitely

  • I think this is right on. This is what it will look like if we go into a collapse. people had better wake up, and stop pretending to live in la la land. the bankers have taken over, china is buying up our land, people are loosing money, and the polititions are disappearing. how the hell are we going to climb out of this debt? we have foreigners coming over here, are schools are not teaching anything, and still people are watching the sitcoms, and are brain dead

  • Yes, in a couple of days, fuel is gone. NOT!

  • @econewpower they can get out of hand but the probability is small. would you actually bet this will happen? are you actually buying water, food and guns? i´m not being sarcastic or whatever. really wanna know.

  • your not to far off. we are domesticated animals. look at where your food is from. most is shipped from overseas. we will be fuct come time.

  • Any countries that got golds/silvers in their national vault, or got major manufacturing/agriculture sector, is like to survive although will take a big hit in early time.

  • @hcvang sir you are totally off the page with these comments the American people are not responsible for the coming collapse. It is the facist elite who have deliberatly engineered this collapse and now are teaching YOU to blame the american people who are not responsible so they can escape unnoticed. Sir please for all our sakes grow up and learn your history. From an Aussie

  • @FantomasXZ7 Well it will become MUCH worse if Rick "the redneck" Perry is elected as our next president!
