This just blows me away. The tears of a clown? It would be a great song whoever had written it, but we know Stanshall: he does playful, absurd, sometimes just plain silly, not existential angst like this. This is sung right from the heart, and a broken heart at that. We know he could role-play, but this sounds like he means every word. "Here am I filled with wonder, and I'm crying" - yeah, me too.
