there's also a historic/cultural side to it. hispanics/latinos are a minority group, and many live in ghettos or barrios, many are in poverty. i'm not saying blacks and latinos are the same, but there's a lot of similarities. some indios were slaves as well. so if you're an indio/moreno/mulatto (basically mixed or non-white latino) then yea, i think you can understand where blacks are coming from.
