Misuse of the military is, unfortunately (as in the Roman Empire) a favorite attribute of our form of government. This is coming from someone who joined 23 years ago. It's sad that we believe we must defend something that is actually a natural state. Ben Franklin, in February 1775, said this: "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."
