Found this second-hand courting dulcimer while passing through Montpelier VT on the way back to Montreal after visiting some friends in Milford CT two weeks ago.
My wife (Jenni) and I are just trying to get used to it so this is no masterpiece, but it does give you a good look at the courting dulcimer being played.
I wonder if there were strategies created to kiss and play at the same time?

This is sooooo great - what a great way to get rid of a chaperone!
Beauty is music...

As long as the music can be heard, you need no chaperone. Well done.

These are the most wonderful inventions!
Can you imagine courting across the dulcimer,
you'd have this shared skill to share
through the long winter nights,
shared joy through all the years of marriage.
What could be more romantic that that?

It's a great honour being confused with Lew, Max! Unfortunately I can't play all those wonderful instruments.
