I mean her season's best was 52.12 and then out of nowhere she scores a 70?

Joannie has an amazing physique, which enables her to perform with such surity and stability. I think we're going to all have to admit though that her 70 score here was inflated because it was going into Olympic season and everybody was inflating scores to favor their national champions. Anybody a scoring expert out there? What should Joannie's score realistically have been? Personally I think Czisny skated the sp better here. Anyway, Joannie went on to the Olympics to win Bronze!

@AASK286 Так нада

@barthes Mao is not disastrous. She is very graceful, unlike other skaters- like the one in Korea who is more technically adaptive than Mao. Mao's spirals are over the top and generally I do not like to see bullies posting nonsense about Mao, Not especially in Joannie's forum

I'm in love with Joannie's transitions going into all the jumps (they have to be the best internationally), love the choreography, and I love her interpretation and attitude. Great music for her.

@christmaszorro before you comment, google JOANNIE ROCHETTE and you will see that SHE HAS BEEN on the podium long before yuna and mao did. FYI: SHE'S RANKED NO.2 in the WORLD, MAO 3rd, YUNA 1st. duh!
-
This really is an incredibly good skate. The spiral she does out of her double axel (on her landing) is so beautiful.
-
@christmaszorro So WRONG!! she's the vice champion of the World in 2009!!! she's six times canadian champion!!
-
@christmaszorro: how did you figure she never made it to the podium on any international event before?! She did 15 times before Vancouver, including wins at Skate Canada, Trophée Éric Bompard and a silver at the Worlds last year! o_O
-
Yes she is a fantastic figure skater,but given her competition she did not perform to podium level.She has NEVER placed on the podium on any international level competition before(& probably never will again)& there is a reason for that.Her competition,Kim Yu-Na & Mao Asada are sensational & flawless.Rachel Flatt landed all of her difficult jumps solidly,Joannie almost fell twice.Politics is not supposed to come into play when scoring but in history the scoring has been corrupt & they are human.
why are you talking about Koreans watching Joannie's SP? you guys are very intentional. Please take care of your disastrous Mao princess :)

Did you see her scores? Her TES isn't much higher then Czisny's (38.40 and 36,60), but her PCS is 31,60 (Czisny has 26,92)! She won because of her PCS and this is very subjective score! And Virtue/Moir get a huge PCS for their OD instead of her two falls during the programme!
