Big Cat Rescue- Think Green, Live Green Challenge!

Being as "Purrfect" as we can to help save the planet is a mission we take very seriously here at Big Cat Rescue. We know that by keeping the planet green for us, we keep it green to all the wildlife out there.
We recycle our plastics, reuse much of our materials, keep lights low or off in our gift shop, and turn in our ink cartridges and old cell phones to raise money to help feed the cats. And we offer discounted group rates on those that come in one bus instead of filling up our parking lot with Hummers and S.U.V.'s.
The conservation programs we support help keep wild habitat protected.
We still feel like we should be and can be doing more.

Uhh.. taking care of big cats does nothing to help the environment anymore than taking care of pets does. Your animals are never going to be returned to the wild to help the native populations. You're taking up more resources. I'm sure your cats eat a lot of meat, which comes from animals that need to be farmed.

Not that what your doing is bad, but don't pretend you're doing the environment a favor by keeping these animals more than any other person who takes care of an animal is.

It's the education part at BCR that makes a difference, we educate over 50,000 people each year about the problems these cats face in the wild and in captivity. Plus we support conservation groups and stock all their merchandise in our giftshop :)

I'm sure BCR has taken up a considerable amount of area. this area is intead used for housing cats instead of mabye a gas station or houses. thats one way they are helping the environment

They're doing the humanity a favor by saving these cats.Ironically taking care of pets does NOTHING to help the environment. Helping endangered species enhance the education & environmental protection sentiment which we need. What do u suggest they should do? Leave the abandoned cats getting abused & starve to death? BCR is there to save those cats who are already abandoned by their owners, their mission isn't to help populate the endangered cats. U should get ur fact straight before speaking
