@DonarVanHolland I'm proud of the fact that we fought against the Germans. We did the right thing, even if we lost the Empire.
Besides, the Empire has become the Commonwealth - a democratic family of nations, comprising over 2 billion people around the globe!

By Englishman I think they mean all people that could enjoy 'the rights of Englishmen,' which included fair trials, security etc. These rights were extended to all citizens in the UK, and perhaps some commonwealth countries too I'm not sure.
