North Dakota State Defeats FBS Rival Minnesota

A montage from the North Dakota State at Minnesota college football game on October 20, 2007. One year after a heartbreaking 10-9 defeat at FBS Minnesota (NDSU's only loss of the 2006 season), the Bison got payback. With about 30,000 Bison fans packing the Metrodome, the top ranked team in FCS ran over the Big 10's Gophers 27-21, their first ever victory over Minnesota. The star of the day was NDSU running back Tyler Roehl. The junior from West Fargo earned national praise by running for a school record 263 yards, including a 77-yard first quarter touchdown run. Steve Walker also threw for 191 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

@tjcool412121 joshfuller is right, this was a rebuilding year (which happened to be the worst season in minnesota history), and NDSU had their best season in school history being undefeated all year but unable to compete in postseason play. The #1 FCS team barely beat one of the worst FBS teams that year. If they were to play now Minnesota would annihilate NDSU, and to say gopher football is terrible is a bad statement...have you heard of 6 natl titles, more than texas and florida combined

first of all the bison and the gophers are not rivals. second gopher football is just terrible anyway. that wasnt a transition. the bison were the ones that moved up a division. get your factss straight joshfuller.
