@DrowSwordsman man you do take quite a while to reply lol. Maybe you should check your e-mail everyday. Anyways, I get what you mean. I've been practicing and I've managed to get the high scream, but it sounds like a little girl scream. Imagine a little 5 year old girl screaming. That's how I sound. I don't really like that

@MetalGearSEAL4 Also in terms of highs~ you might be a lot better by now who knows but I remember when I first started highs it was really difficult. I would increase pitch and my throat would just kind of stop and that was it. But practice made perfect and eventually I got the sound I wanted, and just focused on increasing endurance from there.

@MetalGearSEAL4 I'm so fucking awful at getting back to these I'm really sorry. Yeah the tightening of your diaphragm as if you were taking a shit is the right thing to do - and yeah you'll sort of feel your throat tighten a little bit. And if by relax your throat you mean adjust it to pitch that sounds about right - the sound you are looking for in fry is like a crackly-pop sound, as if you woke up with a very groggy voice or like Marge Simpson. If you sound like this you're on the right track.

@Mirozenx The nuclearpandemic dude who replied to you 3 weeks ago is spot on. Can't really say it much better than that. I honestly wouldn't worry about the coughing too much, that happens to me when I'm out of practice sometimes. But yeah, your throat shouldn't hurt from this kind of scream at all, if it does just take a break and try again later.
i have been screaming for about five or six years mainly inhales and that is exactly what i see here its not exhales and that what i see everyone think your doing its called inhale screaming its the tighting of the throat and forcing air through it not alot of air gets through and its has the raspy sound to its if you wanna check out my vid of my cover of Tears dont fall its the samething he is doing in this vid

@ShitStartingRiot Your English is sort of confusing but I'm not inhale screaming. As Melissa Cross explains in her second DVD, inhale screaming is basically the opposite technique of vocal fry. It's actually sort of interesting how that's the case. But I'm not going to debate this further basically because it's like arguing 2+2=5. What I am doing is called vocal fry, and it is an exhale technique. If you cannot hear the difference, that's fine but it doesn't make what you're saying true. Thanks!

ok, i know how to do the vocal fry sound but when I get louder, I somehow end up doing the false cord for some reason. any tips?

@kemolegend907 Not really sure how that happens at all- a lot of the "sound" from your false chord comes strictly from the throat. My only guess is by increasing your volume you're simply trying to see how loud you can get by forcing as much air into your scream as possible. This isn't how you should be increasing volume, you just want to keep practicing the fry you have and slowly start adding some air to the scream.
