This series of videos shows you how to easily flash Windows Mobile 6.5.1 ROMs with TouchFLO 3D (2.5 manila) to your T-Mobile Touch Pro2 using ONLY your MicroSD chip installed on the phone.

That's right, unlike my other real time flashing video (which is the most common way to flash ROMs to the phone) with this method:

You do NOT have your phone connected to the computer,

You do NOT have to be connected to ActiveSync, and

You do NOT use the RUU program ("ROM Update Utility").

All that is needed is to make sure your phone is unlocked (HardSPL installed, meaning you have unlocked your phone's ROM door), that you phone is at least 50% charged and that you have a MicroSD card installed.

After you turn the phone completely off, you hit a certain combination of buttons on your TP2 and the phone will automatically install the ROM you have chosen.

Watch the videos and you will see how easy this all is.

The usual warnings apply, that this is all done at your peril. The main thing is to make sure you don't disrupt the flashing process, e.g., by running out of battery power half way into the process.

I'll post the steps in here when I have time. For now, watch the videos to see how what I call "microsd flashing" is done. I don't know if anyone else has called this technique that name, but I have not seen the process discussed here on YouTube.

quick question for you about the hardspl......is it necessary to do this to upgrade to a cooked rom..and will the phone become locked after i do this?...thanks and appreciate it

Yes, you must run HardSPL. This unlocks the phone so you can install any custom ROM you want.

The phone "door" remains unlocked after running HardSPL.

Later if you want to make a warranty claim, there is a way to relock the door and return the phone to stock.

I buy a sprint tp2 unlocked at ebay, so I can use it in canada. I want to know if I do the spl and install a custom rom. My phone will be locked? so no possiblility to used with canada provider ? it will only work with sprint?
