@SuperGreenHulk American ''documentaries'' can be extremely one sided and simplistic. If you have ever seen American docus that deal with ww2 in the pacific you would think Japans main tactic was the suicidal banzai charge and they couldn't hit a hay barn at 20 yards.

@SuperGreenHulk I agree with your post but remember that the German U-boat fleet had the highest number of Nazi party members of any german military branch during the war. Basically everyone was a nazi. Not that it makes any difference. They were people too.

While the idea of merchantmen being sunk is repugnant to many of us, it must be said that America did the same in the Pacific. It's just how submarine warfare was conducted. It has been truthfully said that "War is hell". I hope we never have to face war on such a scale again.

I actually like these documentaries by BBC, they are straight to the point and tell both sides of the story. Not like Discovery where they tell how all Germans are Nazis and all they do is exterminate Jews. Watching this makes me realize not all Germans in WW2 are the evil type of people
