Lip enhancement news segment: Dallas facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Sam Lam discusses the principles of natural lip enhancement, lip correction, and how to avoid the duck or sausage look on Good Morning Texas. For more information about lip enhancement, plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, facial plastic surgery or Dr. Lam, please visit www.lamfacialplastics.com.

Sensuous, full lips are a hallmark of alluring beauty. Many techniques exist to create or re-establish thin, attenuated lips, but very few methods prove to be safe and effective. As the lips are one of the most mobile and expressive regions of the face, only select materials should be used to enhance lip fullness without risking an unnatural appearance, infection, extrusion, or other deformities. After a consultation with Dr. Lam, you will come to realize what method is optimal for your aesthetic goals. Dr. Lam believes that creation of beautiful lips requires two specific skills on the part of the surgeon: 1) a sense of balance and proportion between the upper and lower lips (oftentimes, the upper lip is enlarged too much in relationship to the lower lip) 2) the skill to sculpt a natural-looking lip (Dr. Lam recreates the natural contour and shape of each lip rather than a uniformly inflated "sausage"-appearing lip that always looks unnatural). Dr. Lam is also very skilled at correcting lips that have been poorly augmented. Although he may not be able to correct badly created lips in every case, he will be able to inform you as to the chance of success in your case.

Dr. Lam is board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has authored three major facial plastic surgery textbooks, including Comprehensive Facial Rejuvenation: A Practical and Systematic Guide to the Aging Face, Cosmetic Surgery of the Asian Face, and the recently published Complementary Fat Grafting. Dr. Lam has also published over 100 book chapters and scientific articles on the subject of facial plastic surgery and lectures nationally almost on a monthly basis on facial plastic surgery and has lectured over 100 times to date. • wow im lucky, he is really close to where i live! wish i had the money though

  • i kno right, i have thick ish lips as in the height of my lips, and they r quite full as in volume, but i have really small mouth i would love to have it bigger

  • wider mouth or wider as in more pink show? maybe you want a lip roll, or advance, but that flattens the border and looks strange if the surgeon is an idiot.

  • Is there no way to widen lips? I always hear about methods to make lips look plump or fuller, but what about wider?
