Wednesday 13th January 1982, the fifth day of the snow and ice, the first day of the national coal strike. BBC Camera Crews spent the day in five places throughout Britain.
In this clip bulldozers battle through mountainous drifts to open the road to an isolated Welsh village, Aberdaron, on the Lleyn Peninsula in North Wales.

I was 4 at the time, I still have a vague memory of Dad clearing the snow drift that was blocking the front door of our house. Also, proper Welsh accents. :-)
