White House Internship Service Project

This fall, the White House Internship Program partnered with nine Washington, DC public high schools to serve as tutors and mentors for area youth. At the end of the semester, the interns brought the students to the White House for a tour and presentation on the DC Scholars Program, a White House Internship program for DC high school students.

Since I live in Houston, Texas when I was in high school I took an internship at NASA. There's nothing wrong with local DC students interning at the white house. Race doesn't matter and lets not even talk about it.

I was watching CNN and they put up an unemployment chart showing that Asians have lowest unemployment rates then Whites, Hispanics and Blacks on the bottom. They then went on to say that Blacks are the first to lose their jobs in a recession and the last to be rehired And because Blacks are usually paid less than their co-workers they have little or no savings making it harder to survive the recession

I took a class on inequality in college and studied this for months. If your going to make that argument then why not ask why Asians have the lowest unemployment? It is because they have a higher percentage of highly skilled and educated than whites do. It is not racism to get a better job for making better grades and taking harder classes.

Blacks tend to not go to college or hold highly skilled jobs- so when a recession happens the blue collar workers of all races get fired. It is not because they are black that they have higher unemployment numbers. You misinterpreted the studies iluvakeys4ever.

Let me clarify, and even though these individuals are of less value to the company they work(ed) for they should be retained because they are members of a minority population.
