  • thanks

  • nope. it's a 4.46 bore, 4.0 stroke 502 block.

    a 454 uses a 4.25 bore with a 4.0 stroke.

Chevrolet started using the 502 in marine applications years ago, then branched out into the automotive market.

  • I've actually never raced it with the motor/tire combo. I do run it hard at times when I can out in the sticks (or in business parks) Someday I might get the urge. Of course the assholes at nhra don't like my 5yr. old simpson belts either.

  • that looks like the blue my dad had on his 67 camaro. can i have the specs on the paint?

  • The color on film is quite a bit duller than in real life. The paint is actually 17 yrs. old but still looks as good as ever. I repainted the motor compartment (with handmade inner fenders) about 3 yrs. ago. The paint is DBU PPG urethane. The mix is my own custom color comprised of alot of blue pearl, violet, blue, red and ultraviloet. Base, clear. Thanks for the comment. Good luck on your 78.

  • When the motor is cold, you have to allow for the pulleys to expand (aluminum expands rapidly) so the belt has to be adjusted accordingly. The important measurement is when the motor is warmed up. Then you allow apprx. 3/4" deflection in the belt. Too tight you take out bearings, wear the belt and pulleys,etc....

I appreciate the question though. Thanks for the comment too. "theurinalcake" ? Interesting.

  • Sounds great , pump gas??? So do you do car shows around the pacific NW??

  • oh my god... i think i may have fallen inlove with ur engine

  • sound nice

  • awesome toy you got there....

  • thats your daily driver right?

  • I made the radiator tubing out of stainless. All the AN fittings are mail order from Summit or Jegs, but I chose to polish all of the red and blue anodizing off because I prefer the "natural" look. Of course you can order nickel plated fittings but you can't polish them because they aren't aluminum. The formed fuel lines are from BDS.

  • where did you get all of your plumbing for the motor from?

  • NICE CAR

  • Thank you.
