Blackman high schools opening game against Tullahome. DeShawn Smith #7 broke a 45 yard run to set up a touchdown run by Jacques Smith #22 to give Blackman a 7-0 lead. On the night DeShawn rushed for 76 yards on just seven carries while Jacques was the scoring machine as he had four touchdowns on the night and 56 yards on 11 carries. Sophomore Itavious Mathers #4 also got into the act with a 50 yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter as he gained 61 yards on just four carries. Blaze defense which forced Tullahoma into six turnovers and only 135 total yards. Martin Dietrich #6, Jake Armstrong #10, Matthew Stubbs and Dre Kertchaval all intercepted passes that set up Blaze touchdowns and Kertchaval even scored off his interception from 38 yards out. The Blackman defense then got a Tullahoma turnover on their first drive as Dietrich intercepted quarterback Derek Bowles at the Tullahoma 14.Blackman quarterback Tyrek Collier then found wide receiver Joseph Raby from 22 yards out to give Blackman a 14-0 lead.
