The electrical brain wave (EEG) from the visual area on the scalp was recorded and classified, making a direct communication channel between subject's brain and the computer program. The six virtual flashing buttons on top of the computer screen serves as a visual marker of brain wave.
There are 2 or 3 levels of a menu and 6 flash squares representing alphabet, punctuation marks and backspace respectively. Staring at different flash squares can choose relevant marks. With client of Triumphal, relevant marks will be input into the notepad.
The experiment was conducted in the neural engineering lab at Tsinghua Unversity, Beijing, China

  • ahh, very clever indeed. you are are on the right path, but just know that the system of your mind/computer/programming is only half of the technology. the half would be to train your mind to project information into program

  • It's not because of the classification process. This kind of experiment called SSVEP. You can see there are six flash button on the top of the screen. You choose the words by focus on the flash button and we can found the character of the frequency flashed from EEG data. So it's actually not classified what you think, but which flash button you look at. This products may be used to help the ALS patients like Stephen William Hawking.

  • This sentence includes all the 26 English letters from a~z. I picked this sentence just want to prove our system could be used to type anything you like.

  • is it just a random sentence that you picked, and then concentrated on so that the computer would pick it up? i'm sure if you took some very deep and meaningful quotes and concentrated on those, then your computer would type faster than you could read, and it would be saying things from deep within your subconcious, it would almost be like talking to yourself, but an infinatly more truthful version of yourself. a quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog

  • what does this mean? "a quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" ... who is the dog? and why is he so lazy? who is the quick fox? and why is he so brown?
