Damaged video footage of Robert Caruso with a Vox Jaguar organ and a Vox Teardrop guitar, London, on an August 16th - alas: the anniversary of Robert Johnson's and Elvis Presley's deaths and of the Woodstock Festival in 1969.... : )

Robert Caruso is a singer-songwriter from London, England. He's been a professional Rock musician for many years and the Vox Teardrop guitar and the Vox Jaguar organ are his main tools of the trade, at the time of this video.
Throughout the 1960s British company Vox was the most innovative musical instruments manufacturer, creators of the Cry Baby Wah Wah Pedal and the AC30 guitar amplifier, among many other things. The Vox Teadrop guitar was originally designed by Vox for The Rolling Stones' Brian Jones in the early 1960s. Later in 1966 The Stones' Bill Wyman used a Teardrop bass (known as the Wyman bass). The Teardrop was common among US '60s Garage bands (The Standells, The Seeds) and again in the 1980s, when it was used by guitar players such as Echo & The Bunnymen's Will Sergeant, The Cult's Billy Duffy and Robert Smith (The Cure, Siouxsie & The Banshees). It was also used by Johnny Thunders with The New York Dolls.

The Vox Jaguar organ, made only in Italy in 1967-68 by Vox's partner company Eko, is a more streamlined version of the Vox Continental organ, the first portable electric organ, invented by Vox in 1962, instantly recognizable because of its distinctive sound and its 1960s 'Mod' design: its red top, and the inverted colors of the keys. It featured on classics such as The Kingsmen's Louie Louie, ? & The Mysterians' 96 Tears, The Velvet Underground's Sister Ray, Bob Dylan's Absolutely Sweet Marie, The Monkees' I'm A Believer, Iron Butterfly's In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, The Rolling Stones' Stupid Girl; it was also used by The Beatles (played by John Lennon on I'm Down, live at Shea Stadium) and of course by The Animals and The Doors, to whom it was a main component of their sound.
It has been also used by US Garage bands (Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Remains, The Vagrants, The Blues Magoos) in the 1960s, The Modern Lovers, Elvis Costello & The Attractions, Suicide, The Damned, and The Specials in the 1970s, Garage bands like The Fuzztones and The Chesterfield Kings in the 1980s, and on the concert/video for Roy Orbison's A Black And White Night (1987, played by Tom Waits and Elvis Costello) and Bob Dylan's Grammy award-winning album Time Out Of Mind (1997) among many other Rock'n'Roll classics
