"pyon" is the sound a bunny makes.
so it's a play on the two words.

Mika was born in Hawaii (her father is Australian & her mother is apparently Japanese) & was originally hired as part of a group called Coconuts Musume.
Minimoni Jankenpyon was released in January 2001
At the time this video was released they were the following ages: Mari (17), Mika (16), Tsuji (13), Ai (12).

In Japan they say it's the sound that a rabbit makes, but I think it's really just a "cute" sound that caught on...back then, anyway...
