@bbzzrrzz my 97 f-150 done that for about 3 years until 1 day my harmonic balancer pully fell off.Turns out the pully was cracked around the bolts which finally sheared off.New harmonic balancer and pully was almost $450.00 because it was a dealer part because it has the 4.2 v-6.the v-8 models are available at most part stores at a much cheaper price.

@187BRYNO the interceptors came with a sohc V8. the mach 1's, cobras, mark VIII's and marauders came with the dohc V8.

thats the same noise my 97 f150 makes! it made it once and went completely away now its back and getting better again! if it was a rod bearing it would get worse so you option is drive it till it blows or goes away but with bad oil pressure you will kill it!
