This is one album I would LOVE to get my hands on if it only was on CD...What was Ron Dante thinking when he proddced this album...I mean the pictures of Bert...was he trying to make him another Barry Manilow? I heard that his ten song set got the only standing ovation at woodstock. I first saw him on youtube, looking for soul-sacrifice. The link looked like a beautiful hippie "woman," so I clicked it. I was blown away. His voice was so beautiful, but was obviously backed up by an even more beautiful soul. I am now a fan in a big way.

I just stumbled on this clip today, so I looked up "Bert Sommer" on iTunes, and guess what: Capitol Records has apparently seen fit to release THIS album (with this song "Destiny") for download. (No other albums, though, at least not yet.)

beside thanks to post those rarietes i wonder why also bert was never succesful..or i men really succes....he's got a great voice, nice songs etc....who knows?

Bert was my friend and lost track after his drugs out of hand.... wish we knew what happened in his life. it is true... he was sweet and gentle. I am glad to hear people like him now.
