First of all it was the Bolsheviks that conquered you, not the Russians, secondly Georgia ceded itself into the Russian Empire WAY back in the 18th century, and betrayed it as soon as the unstable times came, wheras men from all over the empire died in Azerbaijan to defend Georgians. Weather the Bolsheviks conquered you or marched around the Tbilisi with peace trumpets, Georgia still became an SSR, thats the fact of it, and Georgia grew reliant on the other Republics, and it could not adapt.

No. The biggest mistake in Georgian history. If the Soviet Union was a man than Georgia was it's left hand's middle finger. Since 1991 it's been reduced to the bone of that finger and the war of 2008 mutilated half of it. And the nation continues to decay. Though small, Abhazia and South Ossettia make slow reprieve under Russian rule, Georgia simply cant accept that a hand can not function without all it's fingers and a man can not function without his hand. And it paid the price.
