Kit Larson JV pitcher at Tamalpais high school dodges a line-drive over his head while playing against Redwood High School in Marin County. The use of metal bats in high school sports have become an issue in Marin County from the latest incident that happened to a pitcher on the Marin Catholic High School baseball team, is in a medically induced coma at Marin General Hospital after he was struck in the head by a line drive during recently during a scrimmage in Kentfield California.

  • batters with wooden bats hit back to the pitcher as well.

    but with wooden bats the ball doesnt travel as fast therefore it is more safe

  • Played professional baseball for many years, and have done a lot of research on metal bats. Through my research, I have found them to be more dangerous than a wooden bat because a ball leaves a metal bat at a higher rate of speed then on a wooden bat. Kids don't have the coordination or reflexes to catch a ball at that rate of speed. Proper batting technique and sizing of the bat for a child can yield a better ball player than a metal bat ever will...

  • @98GMClowrider my friend got hit in the head with a ball and put into an induced coma. i saw the video and he had zero time to react

  • @mothahen123 i am a pitcher as long as you are paying attention you should be able to make a play or at the very least dodge the ball.Its part of the game get over it..
