Played professional baseball for many years, and have done a lot of research on metal bats. Through my research, I have found them to be more dangerous than a wooden bat because a ball leaves a metal bat at a higher rate of speed then on a wooden bat. Kids don't have the coordination or reflexes to catch a ball at that rate of speed. Proper batting technique and sizing of the bat for a child can yield a better ball player than a metal bat ever will...

@mothahen123 i am a pitcher as long as you are paying attention you should be able to make a play or at the very least dodge the ball. Its part of the game get over it..

@98GMClowrider trust me, with metal bats that is not always the case

I thaught the bat was supposed to be aluminum that sounded like wood
batters with wooden bats hit back to the pitcher as well.
