  • If you don't use fresh squeezed lemons, the sugar crystals wont completely dissolve and the consistancey will still be grainy. I learned this the hard way. Thanks for the video.

Note: The Smuckers Simply Fruit brand does not have high fructose corn syrup in it. It is very expensive and what I was using until I started making my own like this. Funny you're making jam and you have Smucker's in the fridge lol.

  • cool(:

  • I have been getting into canning a new hoby made dill pickles, picked eggs and TRIED to make quick apple jelly but did'ny set thanks for this video it really has help me going to try to make the freezer jelly hope it works!!

  • @vkigns1 I really didn't notice a difference with the lemon juice...definetely didn't taste "lemony" ...maybe it just makes it taste "fresher"? lol...or keeps the fruit from changing color so fast? anyways, I love the sure-jell as well!

  • i have the "Ball Instant" jam (strawberry) in my freezer. like you said "not as sweet"...but still pretty good. the 1st one i made was w/ the sure-jell (stove-top method) & set on the counter 24 hrs. before using. it's really good i think. i like to " squozen" my strawberries too! LOL.:) in your opinion, does the lemon juice change the taste of the strawberries?

  • YUM ! :0d
