Heroin is prepared from morphine (opium extract) by boiling it with acetic anhydride, and then using a process with hydrochloric acid, strychnine, and caffeine. The most essential chemical for Heroin (i.e. acetic anhydride) is produced only in West, No Muslim country has any plant for producing acetic anhydride. Recently its import to Afghanistan through Afghan transit route under flag of NATO/US since 9/11 has increased exponentially. MNCs producing all such chemicals are making billions.

that's very interesting information - thanks for that update. There is no doubt that the drugs trade is propping up the US and UK economy. We should also investigate the huge rise in popularity of cocaine over here over the last couple of years and follow its production routes.

@mattydigs I heard that news recently too. I would suspect that the West has not been behind this attack, as we all know how Wall St benefits from the drug trade. It will cause more resentment and strife there; but the US won't leave afghanistan whatever happens as it has a vital border with Iran and is strategically important for oil and gas. We don't mind ripping poor people's lives apart - look at what we did to Iraq.

its amazing that the Taliban eradicated poppy growing and opium production in Afghanistan. that is until the US invaded the country now Afghanistan is again the top exporter of opium/heroin. that says it all really. do you really thin the Us military is powerless to stop the production.
