Mostly fakes. Never see them in UFC or PRIDE, and Gene Lebell whipped aikido "master" Steven Segal. You got take some Aikido, then go into a marine base town and try to kick a drunk MPs butt at the local watering hole and you will regret that. I promise. Its an outdated useless technique and all the demonstrations are acting.
The "old man" is Morihei Ueshiba! And I just noticed that the guy in the middle of the video is Saotome-sensei at Shobukan Dojo here in D.C. I first watched this video just before I started training there regularly, and I either didn't recognize it at all before or wasn't sure.
i don't think you right because if the practitioners won't use zero resistance and won't be following through with the moves they mate break their bones and in the real life people use resistance and if they will do they mate end up with broken bone so i think Aikido is very good at self defnce if someone attacks you you can break his arm or what aver by doing some self defending i did aikido move on my father when he was using resistance and he said it hurt him
I recently sparred a guy my size and in my weight class who was trained in Kendo, BJJ, and boxing. I took him down with a simple Aikido arm lock as soon as he came in on me. He jabbed at me then tried to use a BJJ takedown. However I used a basic Aikido move as a counter and he went down in less then 15 seconds of sparring. He tapped out! AIKIDO WORKS!
every martial arts has its flaws... but try not to judge an art without knowing its essence... especially Aikido... Aikido was developed by O'Sensei not for the purpose of proving who's the best or worst but he created it for the purpose instilling self discipline and inner peace upon its practitioner... i've been into karate, tae kwon do and mix martial arts for years and years but Aikido for me is the best and i've been practicing it for more than 12 years now... trust me guys... it hurts!

I think Kendo is best because you have a big stick

The mighty chun is actually more effective than Aikido. Which is sad.
