  • Hardest thing to do for me is asking my landlord permission but have cable from a telephone pole that runs into my apt, think it'll be a no brainer for tech to install the dish

  • new to the game but learnig fast im a dish network contractor

  • "your a man"

you be suprise I work for them and get guys all the time who don't know how to do simple things like turn on the tv set. their wives do it cause they pussy wipped.

  • Got timewarner cable and want to go to directv will they have 2 wire everything again?and for each box they connect to the phone line this is alot

  • @xSuBax Here's the thing we got 3 HD tvs and they wanted to charge $100 for the third receiver, is that still going on? Also, what about the local forecast? I'm still living with someone who'd rather get their local on the 8s then pulling it up on a webpage. I think HD should be standard but, who knows. It's my dream to get a 55 inch TV and the multiroom DVR, I'm with Cox Cable and currently, my bill is $135.00 for one DVR, 2 boxes, no premiums and that's not including internet!

  • @ParanormalRob The HD is great, and MRV (multi-rrom viewing) is awesome. Only one DVR on the SWM system and you can record from any box in the home. Rain does not effect the signal AT ALL. What you have to be concerned for is high winds and tons of snow. If you have a substantial amount of either, it can obviously disrupt your signal, but it's very rare. I speak with customers all the time that have had DirecTv for literally years with no problems.

  • @xSuBax What's the HD picture like? I heard it's breathtaking and we lost rain when I had DISH

  • Man, I'd hate to work in a market that has to use the 18x20 everywhere... 4 lines down.. yikes.

  • why aren't the connections on a weather box. I know they say the grommets are weather proof but that much wire on the side of the house looks really bad. I heard them say there was no ground as well, did they ground it to the power meters ground or leave it off?

  • hmmm wonder why my direct went out when we got alot of snow then the customer support tech told me to clear the snow off the dish, WHAT!!! its on my roof it started getting worse and would go out when it was overcast so I dont know what xsubax is tallking about even their tech support tells you to clear snow off. Got cable back its alittle more money but way more reliable guess you get what you pay for, good luck to you though,
