I sure bet that paul simon took influences and sounds from other artists. I think copied was the wrong word. But dont you think that the riff from white sky just sounds like the one from this song. And hey im not saying its bad. Vw have said they was influenced by simon and they clearly were, their chord progressions for example are simmilar i think. And yeah its not the same riff. @AliGrabs Perhaps you should look into the history of the production of Graceland and how Simon stole music from Los Lobos (All Around The World) and many of the African artists he collaborated with. Simon isn't exactly free from theft. Also, if VW did indeed "steal" from this song and sample it without permission Simon's lawyers would be all over them to get money from them.
As for me, I don't think this song sounds anything like "White Sky," except for some very vague similarities
