Zpen is another neat invention that we got to test out at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. We talked to Jon Christeson of Dane Elec about the Zpen, which is a neat pen that is able to record your personal handwritten notes that you take with the pen, store them, and then upload them onto your personal computer.
You simply write your notes on any paper like you normally would with a regular pen. You can write worded or numeric notes, make drawings, sketches, tables or any other design with the pen on paper.
Then download your notes direct to your computer (works with PC/Mac/Linux) in order to read your recorded notes on screen.
You can use Note Search to find keywords from your handwritten notes using cutting-edge search engine software.
And, with one click you can convert your handwritten notes into digital text! The Zpen is also a 16 gigabyte USB key that can be used to carry digital files, images, music, and video - just like a regular USB (thumb drive) storage device.
The Dane Elec Zpen weights only 16 grams, uses standard format ink refills, and comes with 2 V393 batteries.
