Pickett left Atlantic for RCA in 1972, eventually releasing four albums for them through the mid-'70s, and the best tracks on those albums are compiled on Take Your Pleasure Where You Find It. I came across this track on the 1973 RCA compilation Soul Explosion with Mr. Magic Man and Take Your Pleasure Where You Find It.

  • Excellent - thanks for posting this - have been looking for this for years Used to have it on a very old (VERY EARLY 70'S) K-tel record called "Black Explosion" ...

  • Glad you enjoyed it. Have a look at the Soul Explosion Playlist on my channel, it might be the album you remember.

This kind of music (this kind of soul)shouldn't be forgotten and its should replace all the new and computerisch dance music

  • I love the wordplay in this song.

  • just about the best song in the world...

  • Thank You For Posting This Song On YouTube.

  • It's definately not the same album but similiar ... the "Black Explosion" album I had was a double album and mostly orange in colour ... I bought it in NZ in the late 80's from a 2nd hand store ... it was from this album I first heard S S B W ... I can't remember what other songs were on it - except for a disco version of "smoke gets in your eyes" by Penny Mc Clean ! But wow your posting certainly jogged my memory !!!

    Many thanks
