  • @baroquemusician1 When Pelew says, "I see something in you Mr. Hornblower," That is like the greatest thing that could ever be said to a young person; to know that your superiors see in you the making of greatness; it inspires something in a person - something for greatness.

  • "My chap likes to fire last... He likes them to sweat." :P

  • @theonemattock I accept the acknowledgment and invite you to take some port with me an a game of whist - POTMAN! CANDLES AND A LIGHT!

  • @Trek001 I tip my cap to that, good sir!

  • @theonemattock This is the honest truth - a guy at the place I work was bossing me around as he was with others. I made the coffee one morning (my turn) and had brought some dutch coffee in for a change. The bully saw me, poured himself a cup. So what i did was to pour it straight down the sink and say "you're not worth the powder"

  • @Songsmirth That's depressing.

  • Awww, Archie's super-fine, but Pellew's my hero!

  • @DanTheGerbil360 Good one. lol I actually shot a mocking bird once, accidently. I was so tired of their loud chattering that I thought I could get rid of them by shooting into the air. Lived in the sticks so no problem about accidently hurting anyone. Anyway, i hit one! I felt terrible but the weird thing was that all the other birds formed a circle around the one and starting crowning(sp)(term?). They did it for some time and I sat there and cried with them. Didn't know birds mourn.

  • The term "Ahh, Mr Hornblower" becomes a catchphrase for Sir Edward! I do love this series. Every now and again I have to watch it to give me some inspiration. Duty, honour, loyalty. If you have those three things in your life and your work, there is nothing to fear.

  • @baroquemusician1 So very true. It encouraged me to carry on when someone said it to me.

  • Bit harsh to take it out on the seagulls like that.
