  • @bigdaveoncampus for example by saturating the diethyl ether with some anhydrous magnesium sulfate. Since this form of MgSO4 is hygroscopic, it will form a solid hydrate (MgSO4(H2O)x) with the water in the diethyl ether solution which can then be removed by filtration.

  • I wonder, she is wearing safety glasses, but not fireproof gloves? I mean, throwing water into a beaker isn't the most safe way to do isn't it? Especially if you know it will produce a big flame!
