Obama is Lying and Why Islam is Violent

In 2009, the US president Barack Obama held a speech in Cairo to the muslim world. He pretty much declared that all of the hostilities were the Wests fault and that Islam is a peaceful religion, which was not part of the problem in combating violent extremists in the Islamic world. To just his claim he cited Surah 5:32 in the Quran. The problem is that the very same Surah legitimize violence against Christians, Jews and non-believers. This is what Surah 5:32-33 says according to one translation:

[5:32] For this reason did We prescribe to THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL that whoever slays a soul, unless it be for manslaughter or for mischief in the land, it is as though he slew all men; and whoever keeps it alive, it is as though he kept alive all men; and certainly Our apostles came to them with clear arguments, but even after that many of them certainly act extravagantly in the land.

[5:33] The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His apostle and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be MURDERED OR CRUCIFIED or their hands and their feet should be CUT OFF on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement,

How can Obama cite Surah 5:32 and at the same time say that Islam is a peaceful religion? The very same passage he is citing legitimize murder!

Obama is not only a liar who is trying to SELL ISLAM to us instead of standing up for the Christian tradition, he is also making appeasement policies with murderous Islamic regimes like for example Iran, which murders Iranians and finances terrorism around the world.

I don't hate muslims. I would love to see a moderate Islam. However, if we ignore the root cause of violence within Islam, and don't question radical Islam, the muslim community will never change to the better.

@fr0zenova They're obviously not all terrorists. But there is a much higher frequency of terrorism in Islam at this time versus that of other religions. But to rationalize the great deal of violence they have been perpetrating in the last century is unconscionable and it is dishonest. This situation is much more sinister than Islamist apologists like yourself would like to come to terms with.

i think in order to keep Muslims where they belong to, we should attack on Syria and other M.Eastern countries too. just like Iraq and Afghanistan we have to destroy their homes businesses and most important their defense structure. I noticed the verse from the Koran he was quoting said "Whoever kills an innocent..." It didn't say "Whoever kills any man..." And from what I gather from reading other verses in the Koran, the "innocent" consists solely of devoted Muslims. That same "holy book" has a verse that says "Slay them wherever you find them."
