Bonanza is an American western television series that ran on NBC from September 12, 1959 to January 16, 1973. Lasting 14 seasons, it is among the longest running western series (second behind Gunsmoke) and continues to air in syndication, starring Lorne Greene, Pernell Roberts, Dan Blocker, Michael Landon and David Canary.

Another one of my childhood TV shows from NBC (could only pick up NBC and Pulbic TV at that time from my home). As I remember Bonanza came on on Sunday nights. We would usually go to my maternal grandparents home after church on Sunday Night and eat supper and we (my cousins and family, etc) would watch "Bonanza" and then "The Wonderful World of Disney" which would feature such classics as "Davy Crockett" and "Old Yeller". A simpler, but in many ways better time. (in my opinion)

thx wiliam. old yeller has been never released in germany. so i did'nt know anything about this tv-sow.

When I was 3 - 4 years old, I used to hide behind the sofa while my family was watching Bonanza. When I was 6, my ole grandpa took me out on to the range to shoot his 44-40 Colt sixshooter, nowadays I love to make little Westerns on my own. Still love Bonanza.
