  • Why does the Federal Govt. Pay just AT&T Dental Benifits? AT&T said they are private busines and can profit. Hell with them nobody else gets free benifits but them. Yet it must effect the CEO or investors only.

  • @mtw1954 I would like to address you. We do make good money at ATT and have great benefits but how dare you say we are uneducated for being smart enough to fight. Most employees are now doing the job of 5 or 6 people now. We make good money because we earn it. If you cant find a good job then maybe your not looking in the right place. Look at what they are going through at comcast (no union). You should really do some research before posting comments.

  • Paranoid, Dont even bother responding to these people. It is obvious they are bitter and full of envy. Like you said, Just because we have it better than other people doesnt mean we should give it up and much less to corporate greed. There are many other professions out there that make more than ones that require degrees etc. That doesnt mean anything. The bottom line is this, The company is growing , reporting profits of billions, Why would they need to cut our wages and healhtcare? THEY DONT

  • OK..so now I know that conceptually you are lacking the basic resource of putting 2 and 2 together. Literal and surely living up to your adoptive alias. I have failed to cause you to think, my bad.

I also see that the union has decided to work w/o a contract. Is that good or bad?

Regardless, I am happy for your family that you will remain employed. Congratulations and I agree to disagree with you. I wish I knew where you were, for I would buy the first round.

    Good luck and god bless.

  • You're so misinformed it's comical. We're not asking for more wages. Hell, the negotiations haven't even got past the company trying to take back benefits we have fought for in the past. Unions outsourcing jobs? Now I know you know absolutely nothing. Why are you posting when you have no clue? Try using that education to better inform yourself. The Unions aren't ruining America! Last time I checked Corporate America is running this country.

    at&t NET profit for 2008 = $12.87 Billion. Bankrupt?

  • Oh, we know how good we have it. Why do you think we fight to keep what we have, every contract? But you think just because we have it better than others we should just give it up, to the greed of the company? You're so very generous with other peoples money. And what is this about "demanding", again? We are negotiating for a fair contract, nothing more. I think you are grossly misinformed. And if the CEOs and Officers can be so lavishly rewarded why shouldn't the employees earn a fair wage?

  • You want more wages, you don't contribute to health care and there is no job security of you bankrupt the company. Unions have been outsourcing jobs for way to may years, and killed more than one community with the unreasonable.

Keep going CWA and you can join the UAW in the unemployment line.

There was a time when the unions were desperately needed and that time is over.

You can be replaced by another who can be trained and on your job in 30 days and your going to walk? Amazes me.

  • Mr Paranoid, you are missing the point. It's not a matter of education, it's the fact that with benefits you are making more than an MBA would. That's the point. No where else could you accomplish that. No where.

I worked as a mechanic for 35 years, thank you very much, and you folks have absolutely no clue how good you have it.

I am saying be thankful for what you have and quit demanding the unrealistic before you have nothing. Today's market will replace you for less money and to it quickly.

  • "Unrealistic and out of touch with main stream America you folks should be grateful to have the job you have. And you want more and more and more."

I shouldn't be wasting my time since you seem to have a bizarre sense of morality. What is this "more and more and more" we are asking for?

Wanting to keep your wages, your health care, your benefits, and some type of job security is asking too much? If you think so you aren't as educated as you are pretending to be. Again Google at&t profits.

  • You sound like one of those people who looks down on everyone else who hasn't got the education that you have. Why is that? Does your education make you special in some way? I agree education is important. What's even more important is to be able to think for yourself. Just because you're bitter toward a Union because of your second hand experience doesn't mean anything to me. Doubt it will mean anything to most people since you haven't stated anything but your negativity. Please, enlighten us.
