This video is dedicated in loving memory of Cory O'Connor, Adam Buchanan, and Akbar Tsang, three men who held special places in my heart who have passed from this realm over the last year.
I just made this video today, and realized I looked fairly solemn hooping, so this is my creative effort to honor my friends. I truly miss them dearly.
The actual footage is from November 2009. I am going through and making videos of all my hooping and dancing practices and performances from the past 6 months because I just got a new video camera!! And I will no longer need these mini-DV's. Just trying to get my stuff up to date. ;)
In this practice, I was working on elbow passes(horizontal and vertical), and more dance-y stuff(the stuff I do with my legs- arabesque is the straight line & a bent knee is call 'attitude'), as well as the fun foot toss pick up, eagle rolls(front & back-still need to work on realling extending my arms), and isolations/barrels. Fun stuff, though.
Oh yeah, and thats my cat Juno making a cameo in the back for a second!
