The Middle East Institute is proud to host journalist and author
Nicholas Blanford. With fears running high of a fresh war between
Hizbullah and Israel, Blanford will discuss the prospects of a second
encounter between these two enemies. He will examine the military
developments undertaken by Hizbullah and Israel since the July 2006
conflict and analyze how the next war might be fought on the ground.
Blanford will also explore the political implications of such a
conflict on the region.

  • this man is spying on Hesbola and lebbenon

  • In the 2006 war hezbollah destroyed 60 merkava tanks and not only a dozen or 18 tanks!! Also hezbollah managed to destroy army command posts in northern israel and bombard military bases and installations inside israel. In the next war Hezbollah is planning to send waves of fighters inside israeli territory and occupy lands in northern israel from which they will send even more fighters to central israel and send rockets to strategic targets and completely destroy them. Israel will be doomed !

  • im talking about 1 battle not the whole war

in the whole war there are about 18 destroyed tanks, with others being hit but not destroyed

  • first of all i dnt live in lebanon so i cant watch AL-manar ...youtube is a source and other channels...second u even dnt beleive ur self when u r saying 1 merkeva ..dnt run frm reality ..u think ur goverment would do the phenograd comitte ..bcoz hezbollah destroyed 1 mk3 and 1mk4 ? common try to make ur way out ..using better ideas..

  • hezbollah never captured anyone in 2003 and please do name me the events where they tried cross border missions

if you really know histroy, israel and hezbollah didnt have any contact after october 2000, until 2006 of course

  • @TheShalomyo they were just lookin for the reason ..and in my opinion they kidnapping is justified ...i knw that u think Samir kuntar is terorrist and a killer but he is a hero in our eyes and vise versa ur hero's are killers and murders to us ..why u have the rite to keep lebanese prisoners and we dnt ? why u have the rite to have nuclear weapons and other dnt ?i think now u should be convinced that this war was already planned by isreal i dnt want to reach now where in this debate..

  • man you got to be kiddin by saying hezbollah provoked the war and planned it ..i can understand that u think hezbollah provoked it through the kiddnaping operation ...but before this kidnappin operation hezbollah tried 2 times and they failed and isreal ddnt respond like that ..second hezbollah did kidnapp..2 soldiers in 2003 and it ddnt provoke such a war ,,if u knw history u should knw that hezbollah and isreal switched prisoners in 2003 and before that they did ..isreal wanted this for they

  • and u are using al manar as ur source because the idf did cross through wadi saluki and i know you believe that 1000 tanks were destroyed but in reality its was 1 mk 3 and 1mk 4 and a few more tanks were hit but repaired later on ayta ash-shab wasnt even completed due to the early cease fire,

the whole war was sudden for the IDF specially when you see how planned out the provocation was

  • the war wasnt planned for by the IDF and its kinda obvious that the first target in lebanon would be enemy infrastructure such as bridges, practically every war begins with infrastructure bieng destroyed

while hezbollah was the one who initiated the war and planned it carefully, your forgetting who provoked the war in the 1st place

  • they couldnt control and they couldnt even rise the flag in the playground wat about aita el shaab ? the border village ? 33 days they couldnt take control of it ...and about the laytani thing they ddnt take all the area behind the latani ..they only did and invasion through tanks merkava ...through wadi l hojeir not saluki...and if i was u i would nt mention bcoz all the world knw wat happend to the mekava tank in this battle and this way most of the countries r nt being them anymore....
