Here's one for Marine aviation,....The Harrier....The brits have them and the Vertical takeoff design works just fine on the back of an assualt ship...Much more punch than a chopper not to mention the speed--675 mph max....range 1400 miles...so this is one cool jet! This video might be boring to some but think of what this plane is doing...it's standing still like a helicopter with a jet engine exhaust keeping it afloat....

  • Askjimmycarter - love your comment that goes with the video "the Brits have them"....YEAH! That's because it's a BRITISH plane made under licence in America.

  • dude, i was there. i had no idea what it was at the time. never payed much attantion

  • Forget the chopper, I'll fly that!

  • Looks like someone got a 7 Kill Streak

  • yeah and 30 years ago there were alot more accidents and fatals at air shows compared to todays near 0 rate. Its nothing to do with the pilot etc they are instructed exactly what they are and are not allowed to do, its like everything really, car races are boring now compared to the danger of years ago, everythings safety and safety only now days and unfortunatly it means losing some of the best parts of shows like this :o(

  • Not a very inspiring Harrier demo. Saw better than this 30 years ago.
