Just curious, if this version was played on standard tuning, would this not be a considerable achievement, to play the song in standarsd tuning, since it was originally done on a guitar tuned to either D or E?

It would be more than a challenge to play in standard tuning. I used an Open E tuning... albeit my performance of it is a very sloppy one.

What guitar player isn't aware of his shortcomings? Thanks for the reminder. All of these videos were made for my dying mother who lived in another state and wanted to hear me play.

It's an open E Major tuning. Try it, you'll like it. Works great with bottleneck slide.
