Just finished repairing an old McCullock strimmer that was lying around the old mans garage for over 10 years. The piston ring and barrel were scratched, but with a new ring and a rub down of the barrel with some ultra fine paper, it's now running like a dream. For how long, who knows, but like my chainsaw I always add more 2 stroke to the mix just in case (better smoke than lean overheat.) Congrats, I know how good it feels. shame women can't appreciate the feeling or repairing an old gal :)

Its one of those Light Bulb moments isn't it, when the penny suddenly drops and you get that Kerching moment. - love that feeling myself, especially when you have been scratching your head over a problem for ages.
She starts up a treat in the video, makes all the right swishing noises too I hear. Like it.
Once I've sorted my Lister Junior out, I too will be looking for my next problem engine I dare say, so I understand the back of the shed comment for the strimmer once its fixed up.
Thumbs up :)
my strimmer keeps cutting out it runs then keeps dieing can you help

@maicobike1 If it used to run right and you haven't altered anything, it's most likely dirt in the carb but in truth it could be anything - time for a strip down. To be honest, these little 2 stroke jobs really are hateful things, mine was given to me because it wouldn't run, I certainly wouldn't ever buy one.
