The ninth song from Megadeth's thirteenth studio album "Th1rt3en", released on November 1st. Actually it was recorded during the work on United Abominations in 2007, but just like New World Order it never made its way to an master recording, except the special pre-ordered version of United Abominations in Japan on which it was featured. Now, thanks to producer Johnny K., the band re-recorded the song, and just by the way, it has nothing to do with the movie "Black Swan". Although I already loved the old version and was pretty satisfied with it I like this new version a little bit more though. Must have got something to do with this epic intro solo from Dave and the new drum track, don't know, anyway a great song which finally gets the attention it deserves. Enjoy it and support Megadeth by buying this amazing album! \m/

LYRICS:

BLACK SWAN

I thought a desire worth any pleasure
Can never really be a sin in vain
A hundred and one shots of opportunity
I'd gladly take them all again and again
And again

My angels left me with sorrows all my own
And now I'm here with the Devil all my own

Just like a Churchyard Shadow creeping after me
It's only there to terrify my mind, a Black Swan keeps haunting me

I promise on my soul not to get carried away
It always starts out psychedelic and then it turns to black
My head starts swaying, I forgot what it was that I was saying
I don't know where I am and I'll never, never make it back

I sealed my fate and I paid my debt
I fell from grace with deep regret

My angels left me with sorrows all my own
And now I'm here with the Devil all my own

Just like a Churchyard Shadow creeping after me
It's only there to terrify my mind, a Black Swan keeps haunting me
Just like a Churchyard shadow, there's nothing left to see
It's only there to terrify my mind, a Black Swan keeps haunting me

[Solo - Mustaine]

My angels left me with sorrows all my own
And now I'm here with the Devil all my own
All my own

Just like a Churchyard Shadow creeping after me
It's only there to terrify my mind, a Black Swan keeps haunting me
Just like a Churchyard shadow, there's nothing left to see
It's only there to terrify my mind, a Black Swan keeps haunting me

[Solo - Broderick]
Just like a Churchyard shadow, creeping after me
There's nothing left to see, there's nothing left of me

  • @The4Mechanix Yeaaah men! /m/

  • I am determined to learn this solo xD

  • @rufus566 I understand im just saying what i feel about the drummers and the guitars.

Love how you all of a sudden feel the need to defend Megadeth, but what I said with my comment was preference and opinion only, with the exception of Megadeth's choice of vocal orientated songwriting and production. No doubt this album has a pop element to it, with the catchy choruses and the vocals so high in the mix. Dave says what the guitars used too, does not mean its bad, but not my preference. And I said Drover was boring and he is boring.

  • @rufus566 Drover is better than Menza are Gar better than Drover, they do think guitars first actually.

I have not been wild about a Megadeth album since Countdown in 92 (that album was the precipice they should not have peered too much over). After that of course they started heading directly towards the obvious commercial route. When the albums got heavier again they kept the commercial vocal driven song writing technique. I wish Megadeth would think guitars first and vocals as flavor instead of the other way around. And Drover is boring.. Menza!

  • lord voldemort with smoking

  • @Link07250 the vocal track is the same

  • This version just grabs your attention MUCH more strongly than the original. The solo at the beginning is the key. It's easily one of the best songs on the album, and there's a lot of great ones!

  • Singing is exactly the same in both versions - they just carried it over.

This is better because the guitar is AMAZING in this version.
