The 11th Conference of the Contracting Parties (COP11) to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands was held from 6-13 July 2012 at the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest, Romania, on the theme "Wetlands: Home and Destination." Over 800 participants representing the 162 member states to the Convention, as well as the International Organisation Partners (IOPs) of the Ramsar Convention, UN agencies, intergovernmental organisations and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) as well as representatives of the private sector attended the meeting.
