Exactly what I needed to hear exactly when I needed to hear it. One of my "flaws" is a need to always be right. I rarely think what I say might affect others. Being right also tends to make me pessimistic and misanthropic. Considering for a moment that what I say might actually hurt others or cause them to act in negative ways later on, hopefully will make me think more carefully before I say something and help me to think about what a situation is rather than what I believe it is.

I read a guide for spiritual agnostics which suggested something called "G.I.F.T.S."- "Grant Intellectual Freedom To Speculate"- to yourself and others. It seems to me that the differences between the major religions are mostly in the areas of speculation- whether there's a God or Gods and what there nature is, what happens after Death, etc.. The ethics tend to be similar- "do unto others...". Once we recognize that individuals have freedom to speculate about the Unknown, we're halfway home.

@impermanentoo they should add....as long as it does not hurt/damage/isolate/discrimina
te anyone.
To Alfulani5. I am sure you will continue to keep your ideas firmly entrenched. However rigidly you try to maintain your views whether it is by abusing others or other peoples beilefs the fact is that reality will never conform to the way you see the world. You are out of step with the real everyday world and thus deluded.. One day you will die and that is that.. To spend your life trying to fit life into the pigeon hole of the way you want things to be or see things is quite a waste of yor life
