More than fifteen hundred of Britain's newest military awards have been presented to the families of those killed on active duty since it was introduced two years ago. The Elizabeth Cross is given as an official mark of national recognition for the loss of a loved one. In a ceremony at St David's Barracks in Bicester the widow of the 348th British soldier killed in Afghanistan was presented with the Elizabeth Cross and Scroll.
