I've been an OR nurse for 23 years. A BEDSIDE nurse, just like you claim to be, and I'm someone who neither bows to administration nor takes crap from someone like you. As far as the pay, I support myself very nicely on my paycheck, thank you very much. You must be horribly insecure to strike out at colleagues the way you do. @Tankweti - I'm sorry to hear that, Tankweti. Please don't give up searching for a nursing position though! I remember what nursing school was like - so much sweat and tears to earn that RN title after your name. Try looking for nursing positions outside of your current location, maybe in other states. Apply even if the job description says more experience "preferred" and don't limit yourself to your favorite specialty - as long as you get your foot in the door.

@bishop2726 You mean you have to rat your way to those jobs. Nobody gets a desk job unless they are a fat assed rat. A nurse is not always a nurse. Never compare fat assed desk RNs to the ass kicking life savers that work the bedside day after day.

I happen to like this song. All I can do is close my eyes and think of all that I have done. The sensation of a daunting shift with outcomes of heart aches..... All worth it in the end because we are nurses (Regardless of specialty).
