The sights, sounds and sensations are exhilarating, but not nearly as evocative as the smells—specifically, the smell of fresh-baked Montréal bagels. Yes, dear out-of-towner, this is where the best bagels in the universe come from, and Saint-Viateur is the street to find them.

  • New York has some damn fine bagels but they don't hold a candle to my St-Viateur Bagels.

  • how much?

  • For New Yorkers who want to try them, St. Viateur bagels are now available (driven in daily) at Mile End deli in Brooklyn. Expensive, but pretty tasty, and everything else on the Mile End menu is freakin' phenomenal.

  • Hi LecubeNY, great video, the Montreal Bagel shop St-Viateur has become the signature source for these delicious treats! This video would also be great for the Canada’s Got Treasures collection, which aims to feature Canadian videos of personal or cultural significance. Help celebrate Canadian diversity by joining our YouTube group (/group/TresorTreasure) and submitting your video. It would be made available on our channel and website.

  • I wish that store was in my town.

  • st viateur isnt the best bagelry, but i aint dumb enough to start a video blog about it either.

  • These are the best bagels in the world. I always have a little taste of Montreal at home in London, Ontario thanks to overnight shipping.

  • Kaplan's deli in Vancouver used to have bagels that were filled with something called baker's cheese. They were slightly sweet and the pastry somewhat flaky. They were unbelievably good but I can no longer find them anywhere including Kaplan's.

  • fairmount is where its at
