2001 Food City 500 - PART 15/16 (Finish)

We are down to the final 35 laps of the race and it appears its going to be one last battle between the Wood Brothers and Petty Enterprises, except now its Elliott Sadler and John Andretti behind the wheels of the 21 and 43. #12 Jeremy Mayfield is also within striking distance. Meanwhile behind them #24 Jeff Gordon is having some problems getting around the #20 of Tony Stewart.

Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart used to be one of NASCAR's biggest rivalries. Gordon vs. Earnhardt, that was only in the eyes of the fans. Here's what I believe is Jeff's top-5 rivals:

1. Rusty Wallace

3. Matt Kenseth

4. Martin Truex

5. Jimmie Johnson

The only true short track left on the schedule nowadays is Martinsville and I dont know how the hell it has two races. But I'm sure glad it does.

I know he didn't win, but at that time (and for the last 4 years) Jeff Gordon was the scariest guy in NASCAR. I miss old NASCAR days!
