Both indoors and outdoors short clips of various distances using a Sony Handycam HDR-SR1 with the HVL-IRM attached & toggled between lowest & highest setting ect.

All footage was originally shot at the HDR-SR11's maximum quality setting (HD FS) 1920x1080i, 16,000kb/s variable 16:9, then compressed to 720x576p, 5030kb/s 16:19. (YouTube too adds its own compression unfortunately, the 'watch in high quality' mode seems to also have some compression)

  • Did the night vision improve to the last version of the camera?

Cuz I saw a video of the previous camera which had choppy night vision video.

  • I don't understand what you mean. Say it again??

What last version, what previous camera?

  • The SR 10.

I was planning to buy that one, but now I checked out the website from the store, they don't stell that one anymore.

    So I'm getting the 11.

  • Hey where can you buy the HVL-IRM? I want it for my Sony DCR-DVD106 Handycam.

  • so does the IRM work on any camera?

  • Not much difference between the two, the IRM's recommended range for enhancement is 10 to 65 feet, whereas the HIRL up to 66 feet.

The biggest difference, really, is that the IRM comes with an adaptor bracket for camcorders without a hotshoe, and the HIRL is for camcorders with a hotshoe. And the lighting adjustments are different on each; IRM has a dial, the HIRL is by switches and also has an auto setting.

  • Thanks for the demo, I'm so glad I bought the HVL IRM as opposed to the Sima one.

  • In terms of the light what's better

    HVL IRM

    or

    HVL HIRL :)?

  • I have it, check out my vids. Its a sweet camera i bought 3 months ago! Its really awesome!

  • Yea I subbed :)

In about 3 months I will buy this cam =P

    Can't wait !!!!!

  • Out of them all, easiest, rendering time is fast, accepts every video format under the sun, many fx, full 1920x180p/i rendering..so on.

Ask me via PM about this program if you don't have it. I might be able to help you somehow.

    Thnx

  • I' m Sorry, I accidentally deleted your comment.

Now I know what you mean.

Being a Videophile (meaning i must have highest quality possible at all times) I personally upload my vids here in MPEG 2 which takes a bit of time.

It all depends what internet speed you have...

Go to speedtest-dot-com and have a look as this is how vids will look the sharpest.

Having said that, Ulead edtit Pro has a special feature for rendering directly to YouTube. I don't use it. Its also the best prgram for AVCH
