For the 2011 spring performance of the popular musical, Jim Duffy, Jim Griffin and Mr. Masteller + their diligent set building team of East High School students in Corning, NY built a SUPERbadASS set that was, way more than normal, as important in its own as any of the human actors.
That said, the actors were pretty darn superb. From the leads, throughout the chorus, they all rocked. Jake "Fumbles" Wilson totally killed it. I trust *numerous* girls felt an abrupt spark of crush while watching him nail it on stage.
Was excellent to see both the lead actor, and Fumbles, recover beautifully and smoothly from the modest technical/prop stumbles. One test of a fine actor is how you do, especially on opening night, when the damn song bird prop flops out of its cage, and Jake passed with ease.
Oh, and in the unlikely event anybody actually reads this, Sarah Thomas, percussionist, was phenomenal: and I mean that across multiple analytical planes. :-) Hopefully she will grace the Trail, my employer, with her presence at the upcoming photoshoot party.
@FleetStreetNightmare That window looking thing was the window to Sweeney's parlor on the top floor. It was raised up during our show from above the stage, and the front of Mrs. Lovett's pie shop swung open to show the inside.
nice video Griffin, this is Jake if you didn't know. :P
